Pema Khandu Announces 3% DA Hike for Arunachal Govt Employees, Pensioners to Get Arrears

The Arunachal Pradesh government has approved a three per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners and family pensioners, Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced on Friday.

With the latest revision, the DA and DR rates will increase from the existing 60 per cent to 63 per cent of basic pay and pension, respectively. The revised rates will be effective retrospectively from July 1, 2026, providing financial benefits to thousands of government employees and pensioners across the state.

Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the enhanced DA and DR would also cover All India Services (AIS) officers serving under the Arunachal Pradesh government, along with Central Government employees currently working in the state on deputation.

The government has also made arrangements for the payment of arrears arising from the revised rates. According to the announcement, the additional amount due for the period from July to October 2026 will be paid in cash and credited directly to the respective salary and pension accounts of the eligible beneficiaries.

The revised DA and DR will be disbursed along with the salaries and pensions for November 2026.

The three per cent increase is expected to provide additional financial support to serving government employees, retired personnel and family pensioners at a time when household expenses and the cost of essential goods continue to remain important concerns.

The decision also brings employees serving in different capacities under the state government, including eligible officers on deputation, within the scope of the revised allowance structure.
