Politician Sonali Phogat’s post-mortem report shows ‘multiple blunt force injuries’ on body

BJP chief and actress Sonali Phogat’s autopsy file says she had “multiple blunt force injuries” on her body. The Goa police on Thursday registered a case of murder against the two friends following the post-mortem report.

Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code was handed down in the case linked to the death of the 42-year-old leader.

Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Singh, who were with Phogat when he reached Goa on August 22, were named as accused in the case, senior police authorities advised news corporation PTI.

Phogat’s brother Rinku filed a complaint against the two men at Dhaka Anjuna police station on Wednesday. On Thursday, an autopsy on Phogat’s body would be conducted at the Goa Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said Phogat’s viscera will be tested in Chandigarh and Goa.

“We filed a case based entirely on the criticism filed through his brother. The investigation is on,” said a police officer two days after Phogat died.
