S Jaishankar pays respect to former foreign minister Sushma Swaraj on death anniversary

On Sushma Swaraj’s 3rd death anniversary, Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar paid tribute and said that she is fondly remembered.

Jaishankar had served below Sushma Swaraj as India’s Foreign Secretary in the first Modi government.

Tributes poured in from the political fraternity. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh additionally remembered and wrote on Twitter, “Sushma Swaraj ji used to be a stalwart of Indian politics, who used to be regarded for her easy-going and mild behaviour along with being an effective orator. She has contributed a lot in taking the us of a and the party forward. On the occasion of her demise anniversary, I understand her and pay my tributes.”

Sushma Swaraj, the veteran BJP leader and former external affairs minister, died at the age of sixty seven on August 6, 2019 after suffering a cardiac attack.

Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had been among the leaders who paid their tributes to the former minister.
