Shweta Tiwari state that whenever TRP of TV show fell, Ekta Kapoor used to say, ‘Kill someone’

In a recent interview, Shweta Tiwari, along with giving her views on the daily soaps being made these days, also argued why TV actors sleep with heavy make-up.
It has become common nowadays to see the hero of a TV show flying to the moon on a scooter or seeing an actress turning into an insect. Many such clips go viral and are trolled for their illogical stories. Industry veteran Shweta Tiwari, who has acted in many popular television series including Kasauti Zindagi Ki and Parvarrish, shared the reasons behind such twists and turns. While talking about many aspects of these shows, Shweta also shared her views on the kind of daily soaps being made today.

Talking about the illogical twists and turns in Indian daily soaps, Shweta Tiwari gave the example of her popular series Kasauti Zindagi Ki. He state Bollywood Hungama, “We had an entire week’s worth of episodes ready. Suddenly, one day we reached the set and were told that we were shooting for the telecast tomorrow.
I was saying, ‘Why are we shooting tomorrow’s broadcast? Don’t we already have everything ready for a whole week?’ I was told that everything was scrapped, and Ekta had said that Anurag (the lead character of Kasauti) was dying. I was given my script and I came to know that it was all about Karva Chauth and then suddenly Aparna kills Anurag. ‘I asked whether Aparna was not a good woman?’ But there were such ups and downs between us.
He further added, “Then once again we had a scene where Aparna has kidnapped Prerna and she dies and then in a random bar there is a woman named Maya, who looks like Prerna and she is in the bar. Brings the dancer as fake inspiration.
“It was all about TRP, whenever Ekta felt that TRP was not good, she would say, ‘Kill someone.’ White.
However, Shweta believes that the shows made then were better than today’s daily soaps. When asked if he liked today’s shows better, he immediately said, “The shows of that time were better. What are they making lately? Nowadays, someone or the other is just getting locked in a safe. Whatever they do today doesn’t seem real, even at that time when we used to talk about losing Rs 500 crore in a serial, they were not real. Could join.
Recently, they are showing that someone is bitten by a snake, yet she survives. They are flying towards the moon on a scooter. There are two people who are flying holding kites. God knows what is happening. I can’t do all this.”
The actress highlighted how Indian daily soaps have failed to progress with time. Shweta said that, “Now whatever scene and dialogue they give me, I say, ‘I have said and done all this 20 years ago, why am I doing it again?’ “People’s thought process has changed.”
Another favorite topic of discussion among people is ‘Why do these TV actors sleep with makeup on?’ She told, “I completely agree, no one wears makeup to sleep. But, if we show the real face without makeup then no one will want to see your drooling mouth and your dirty eyes. They all Want to see beautiful faces. Another problem with television is that they shoot scenes back-to-back. So now you’ve just shot a wedding scene and then suddenly you’re shooting a sleeping scene, and then you’re expected to continue with the wedding scene. So you don’t have time to take that makeup off, do that scene, and then put your makeup back on to shoot another scene. Therefore, to save time, actors sleep with makeup on. Then they simply change their clothes and proceed with the next scene.
Shweta Tiwari, who has been a part of several films and television series as well as reality shows like Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi, was last seen in the show Main Hoon Aparajita. She will also be seen in Ajay Devgan starrer Singham Again.
