Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm on Monday amid widespread sloganeering and protests by the Congress and other opposition parties on various issues including price hike. Opposition parties started protesting again when the House reconvened at 12 noon for a question-and-answer session after the adjournment of the morning session. An alleged jihadist with links to Bangladesh-based terror outfit Ansarul Islam has been arrested from Assam's Morigaon district where he runs a madrassa. Morigaon Superintendent of Police Aparna Notarjan said that on Wednesday, the police raided the madrasa of Sohria village under Moirabari police station and arrested Mustafa. It is alleged that Mustafa was involved in various financial transactions of terrorist organizations and anti-national activities. The investigation also revealed that he had sheltered a foreign 'wanted person' in the madrasa. Odisha reports new Covid 19 cases

Odisha recorded 1,174 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, with one more death reported. According to the report, there are 7,011 active COVID-19 cases, of which 1,642 are in the Khurda district and 1,290 in Sundargarh. The positivity rate for testing was 5.46 percent among 21,488 samples. And 155 of the new patients were children. The number of infections rose to 13,09,085, of which 12,92,885 have recovered.

Deceased Abbas is a marriage broker by profession in Bhandumthara. According to the police, the killers came in an autorickshaw, knocked on the door, took him out of the house and hacked him to death with sharp weapons.
