Fifth case of monkeypox reported from Kerala

A 30-year-old man, who arrived in Kerala from the UAE last month, tested positive for monkeypox, making him the fifth case of the virus from the southern state. Health Minister Veena George on Tuesday said on July 27 the man had arrived at the Calicut airport and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Malappuram district. His physical condition is said to be stable. Including his parents, those who were in contact with him closely, are being closely monitored.

797 fresh Covid-19 cases in Odisha

In Odisha 797 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded and one death due to the infection. There are 6,732 active covid cases, including 1,546 in Sundargarh and 1,240 in Khurda. The test positivity rate was 4.31 percent with new cases detected among 18,475 samples. Among the new patients were 134 children. Sundargarh reported the highest number of infections at 176, followed by 113 in Khurda, where Bhubaneswar is located. The state had registered a total of 1,029 cases on Sunday.
