Centre approves cancer hospital in Odisha

The Center in collaboration with Tata Trusts will establish a hospital in Jatni for cancer treatment with a skill development center for oncology treatment at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) campus. The hospital will be built with of Rs 650 crore investment. While for the project the Center will contribute Rs 400 crore and the remaining Rs 250 crore the Tata Trust will spend. Odisha reports new Covid 19 cases

Odisha recorded 1,174 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, with one more death reported. According to the report, there are 7,011 active COVID-19 cases, of which 1,642 are in the Khurda district and 1,290 in Sundargarh. The positivity rate for testing was 5.46 percent among 21,488 samples. And 155 of the new patients were children. The number of infections rose to 13,09,085, of which 12,92,885 have recovered.

Gold and silver rise in price

On Wednesday, gold prices rose by Rs 115 to Rs 51,166 per 10 grams in the national capital. Earlier, the yellow metal settled at Rs 51,051 per 10 grams. Silver also increased by Rs 482 to Rs 55,485 per kg. In the international market, gold rose to USD 1,723 per ounce and silver was flat at USD 18.72 per ounce.

A 63-year-old man, who was sleeping in his house, was hacked to death by a group of assailants in Kullukkallur in this north Kerala district. This incident happened on Tuesday morning. Deceased Abbas is a marriage broker by profession in Bhandumthara. According to the police, the killers came in an autorickshaw, knocked on the door, took him out of the house and hacked him to death with sharp weapons. The government of Tripura signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with North East Space Application Center (NESAC), Shillong for 21 projects including disaster management and resource mapping. Elephant carcass found in Jharkhand

On Saturday, the dead body of an adult male elephant was found in a forest in Jharkhand's Ranchi district. “The cause of death is yet to be known. No injury marks were found on the body.
