Yogi launches tree plantation drive in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a tree plantation drive, under which 25 crore saplings will be planted across the state. The chief minister launched the drive by planting saplings of peepal, banyan and pakd (harishankari) in Manikpur development block of Chitrakoot district and said that 35 crore saplings would be planted in the state this year. Puducherry records fresh COVID-19 cases

Union Territory of Puducherry reported 91 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Fresh 9 COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday. 91 cases were detected during the testing of 2,520 samples, Health Director G Sriramulu said in a release. Puducherry region accounted for 65 of the 91 cases, followed by Karaikal with 19 and Yanam (7). Mahe, an enclave in Kerala's Puducherry, has not reported any new cases, the director said. Lalu Prasad admitted to ICU after shoulder fracture

RJD President Lalu Prasad on Monday was admitted to a private hospital due to his illness, less than 24 hours after he had a fall and fractured his shoulder. 49 COVID-19 cases recorded in Ladakh

Ladakh reported 49 new cases of coronavirus, taking the number of COVID-19 cases to 28,513, while 10 patients were discharged from hospitals. According to officials, 228 people have succumbed to Covid-19 in Ladakh. Of these, 168 people died in Leh and 60 in Kargil. Officials said the number of active COVID-19 cases in Ladakh has reached 150 - all in Leh. A total of 589 reported samples were examined in Ladakh. The total number of recoveries stands at 28,138.

CM Eknath Shinde wins vote in Maharashtra

New Covid cases in Odisha

Odisha recorded 245 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, taking the toll to 12,90,783. The test positivity rate fell to 1.92 percent from 2.68 the previous day, as cases were detected among 12,748 samples tested. Along with this, the Khurda district of which the capital city Bhubaneswar is a part reported a maximum of 135 new infections and 38 in Cuttack. On Sunday, the state logged 346 fresh COVID-19 cases.
