India logs 2,124 Covid cases and deaths

India reported a one-day rise of 2,124 new coronavirus infections, taking the tally to 4,31,42,192, while active cases rose to 14,971, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday. The death toll from COVID-19 rose to 5,24,507 with 17 more deaths, data updated at 8 am showed. The daily positivity rate was 0.46 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.49 percent, according to the health ministry. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 4, 26, 02, 714, while the death rate has been recorded at 1.22 percent.
