Earthquake hits Assam’s Tezpur today

On Wednesday, during early hour’s magnitude of 3.4 jolts Assam’ Tezpur, to reports no casualty is reported caused by nature so far. The National Center for Seismology shared the following information: "Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.4 occurred on 27-12-2023, 05:55:35 IST, Lat: 26.70 & Long: 93.22, Depth: 20 Km, Location: 42 km E of Tezpur, Assam, India."

Trinamool President to raise voice for seats in the Lok Sabha, Assam

Trinamool Congress has been eyeing four Lok Sabha seats in Assam. On Tuesday, Trinamool Congress Assam President Ripun Bora said that are going to demand the seats from the INDIA bloc. According to the sources, the party will be demanding seats for Dhubri, Lakhimpur, Kokrajhar and Karimganj Lok Sabha seats. The AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal is an MP in Dhubri while Lakhimpur and Karimganj Lok Sabha seats were won by the BJP in the last general election. Assam woman burnt alive over witchcraft practice

A 30-years-old woman from Assam’s Sonitpur district was brutally attacked and then burnt to death by her neighbors over witchcraft practicing on Monday. According to the sources, the victim is identified as Sangita Kati who was burnt alive by the victims. To police statement seven of them are connected to the incident of which four are arrested. To reports, due to longstanding dispute between the neighbors over various issues, the victim got engaged in witchcraft. Further, search operation is underway to locate and arrest the accused one.

Health ministry updates records of COVID-19 cases

On Tuesday, the health ministry has updated about fresh cases of COVID-19 which is increasing day by day. India has recorded 412 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the country; with this the surge of the cases has gone up to 4,170. Police arrests youth about to join ULFA-I, Assam

Three men suspected to be member of ULFA-I was injured by the police during a firing at Tinsukia district, Assam. Third unnatural death of rhino since September

Another unnatural death of rhino took place in Assam where a streak of tigers killed a sub-adult rhinoceros in Assam’s Orang National Park on Saturday night. Assam three MPs, 83 other candidates to go for Lok Sabha elections

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has recently shared a release of aspirants seeking tickets for Lok Sabha election to be held in Assam. According to the release, a total of 83 Congress members in Assam, including all three sitting MPs in the state, have sought party tickets.
