Dispute erupts between India & Maldives over comments on PM Modi

Amid a diplomatic row between India and the Maldives, Israel embassy has pitched India for promoting tourism in Lakshadweep. To reports, the controversial raw took place on remarks made by Maldivian ministers on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the islands, Lakshadweep. Israel embassy stated, "We were in #Lakshadweep last year upon the federal government's request to initiate the desalination program. Israel is ready to commence working on this project tomorrow. Fire breaks out between Police and militants in Manipur

In Manipur, heavy gunfight broke out between suspected Kuki militants and state force at Moreh town on Monday. According to the reports, Moreh town of Manipur is known for its commercial activities, and now it has become a vulnerable location as gun fights between arm miscreants and the state police force happens on daily basis. Also, as per reports, while the police force were on their duty, the suspected Kuki Zo militants opened fire upon the force during day hours.

7000 pieces of bamboos for Ram temple inauguration ceremony in Ayodhya

All Assam Divyanga Versatile Association of Assam has donated 7,000 bamboos from Assam for inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The pieces of bamboos were collected from Lampi area near Boko, Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council expressed pride for such honourable contribution towards the much awaited Ram Mandir.

Government employees arrested under bribery charges, Assam

Two government employees were arrested under bribery charges, operation led by the vigilance in Assam. Both the charges are from different departments of the government service. According to the sources, the first operation was laid at the Samaria Revenue Circle in Assam’s Kamrup district and another one at the District Agricultural Officer of Goalpara. The identified official is named Pradip Kalita, Supervisor Kanungo of O/O Circle Officer and the second employee has been identified as Budheswar Das. Further, more such operations are underway for bribery cases.

All Assam Day-Night (P) Super Bus Driver Union to protest against the recently passed Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). As per the reports, no buses will ply within the northeast region for 48 hours from 5-6 January. The association members demand action from the government on the taken decision.

Picnic buses can only operate after fog clears, Assam

The Assam Government has issued SOP for picnic goers due to the recent tragic incident which took place in Dergaon. Assam CM directs, buses carrying passengers for picnic can only operate after the fog clears in the morning and must arrive before the fog clears in the evening. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "People should not start travelling for picnic so early in the morning. Today the state police have issued an SOP which states that buses can only operate after the fog clears in the morning and must arrive before the fog clears in the evening."

Assam aims to foster diversity within the state

In a move to fostering diversity within the education sector, the Assam Government has decided to reserve three percent of seats for the Tea tribe and Adivasi communities. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu via X announced the initiative to reserve seats in the current teachers recruitment which is going to be held soon. According to the sources, there will be a three percent reservation for the communities within the existing 27 percent quote under OBC/MOBC under the Department of School Education, Assam.

State wide ‘Gunotsav 2024’ beings in Assam

The state government is all set to assess students performances including school through 'Gunotsav 2024'. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said, the assessment is to get started by January 3 to February 8 of this year which will conduct an assessment for approximately 40 lakh students state wide. Ranoj Pegu said, "The exercise will be carried out at 43,498 government schools across 35 districts of the state, covering 39,63,542 students."

Diesel run bus services to get stopped in Assam

With the New Year spirit, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched 200 electric buses in the city, Guwahati. According to the sources, the aim of the government is to free the state from air pollution. Also the buses comes with facilities like GPS tracking, CCTV installed inside the bus for women safety. At least 14 died at Dergaon bus accident, Assam

A bus collided with a truck in Dergaon, Assam which carried 45 passengers, the incident took place on 3 January early hours. According to sources, amongst the 45 passengers, 14 people died and 27 others were injured. The incident took place on the way when the bus was heading towards Tilinga Mandir, Tinsukia where the truck came in contact with the bus. Police reported that the bus passengers were on their way to picnic and were about to reach their destination, a coal-laden truck coming from Margherita collided with the bus.
