Man arrested for stalking woman

A 25-year-old man from West Delhi was arrested for stalking a woman on social media, police said on Friday. The accused name is Surpreet Singh, a resident of Tilak Nagar here, they said. The woman filed a complaint that since February 14; An unknown person is stalking her on social media, also received messages from various accounts. Police conducted a technical analysis and found that the stalker was using various fake IDs to conceal his identity, a senior police officer said.

Active COVID-19 cases dips in the country

With 2,827 new coronavirus infections reported in a day, India's number of Covid-19 cases rose to 4,31,13,413, while active cases fell to 19,067, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday. The death toll rose to 5,24,181 with 24 fatalities from the latest updated data. Daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.60 percent and weekly positivity rate at 0.72 percent, according to the ministry. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 4,25,70,165. The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive have crossed 190.83 crore.

The national capital witnessed a warm morning on Thursday as the city recorded a minimum temperature of 29.5 degrees Celsius, the highest minimum temperature of the month so far, the Met office said.
