An autorickshaw driver was arrested in Pimpri-Chinchwad area for allegedly making obscene gestures towards a 12-year-old girl, police said on Tuesday. Sachin Shendage (33) allegedly made obscene gestures to the girl on April 22 when she was on her way to her home in Bavadhan area, asking for directions. His father then filed a complaint. Shendge was arrested and booked under relevant IPC sections on Monday.

The Goa Congress on Monday condemned the arrest of Gujarat independent MLA Jignesh Mevani and said the way he was being treated showed that the country was under an "undeclared emergency".
