Assam Police arrests Congress MLA

Assam Congress MLA Aftabuddin Mollah, during a public event accused Hindu priest, holy person with offensive comments, due to which the MLA was arrested by Assam Police. According to the reports, the MLA got arrested under Sections 295(a), 153A (1) (b), and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Dispur Police Station. Mollah during the event said, "Wherever there is a rape, always a sadhu or namghoria is involved. They blame Muslims to hide the sins committed by Hindu priests."

Arunachal Pradesh dams pose threat to Assam’s state bird

Recently, a document was published by Assam Forest and Environment Minister for conservation of the bird species in which it came into notice that the construction of large dams in Arunachal Pradesh for hydro power projects, is found to be threats to white-winged duck, an endangered duck species and Assam's state bird. Supreme court adjourns to hearing on Dec 5, illegal migrants in Assam

On Monday, the Supreme Court has announced to commence the hearing of illegal migrants in Assam on December 5. Assam man kills coworker and run away

In Assam’s Hojai district,news caught attention about a bakery employee of Ruchi Bakery killed his coworker in Abhaypur region of the district. According to the sources, the accused is identified as Dhaneswar Deka, Upen Kari. The cause of the crime is not yet ascertained by police, investigation is still on its way. Norway aid for food security in India

Norway, situated in northern Europe will help fund India's ‘Hunger Project’ and will also assist in strengthening women leaders to protect the environment and promote food security in the state of Uttarakhand. The time period of the project will be of three years that is until September 26 with an estimated budget of ₹44.7 million, an official said.
