Lockdown Extension in Maharashtra

New Delhi: A day after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray clarified that restrictions will continue even after June 30 across the state, the Kalyan-Dombivli municipal corporation has announced complete shutdown in 33 of the total 160 containment zones. Notably, more than 3,300 cases have been reported from Kalyan and Dombivali so far. Following the shutdown only essential services will be allowed and other activities would remain restricted in these areas. According to the reports, essential services in these regions will be available from 9 AM to 5 PM. Besides, unnecessary travel will be prohibited for next 15 days.

Bengal Safari to open after taking Covid safety measures

The Bengal Safari, a state government-run wild animals park, in Darjeeling district and other tourist spots under the forest department will be opened after taking all precautionary measures to check the spread of coronavirus, a minister said on Sunday. “We don’t want a spike in coronavirus cases. Ghaziabad: A massive fire broke out at a chemical factory in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad this afternoon. Over 10 fire trucks have been rushed to the spot and efforts are on to control the fire. Coronavirus treatment: Govt approves use of Dexamethasone steroid.

The Union Health Ministry on Saturday released an updated clinical management protocol for COVID-19 cases. This includes the advice to use Dexamethasone as an alternative to Methylprednisolone for managing moderate to severe cases. “The change has been made after considering the latest available evidence and expert consultation,” noted a senior official of the Ministry. Tirupur North police station closed after wife of SI tests positive for Covid-19.

The North Police station at nearby Tirupur was closed temporarily on Saturday as a woman SI, wife of a sub-inspector there, tested positive. The wife, a sub-inspector attached to Chennai, had come to Tirupur on June 24 on leave and her blood and swab samples were taken the next day, along with that of her husband, police said. Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale hit 332 km Northeast of Jammu and Kashmir's Hanle on Saturday.
