China on Monday said that the overall situation at the border with India was "stable and controllable", and both the countries have "unimpeded" communication channels to resolve the issues through dialogue and consultations.The comments by the Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian came in the backdrop of the continuing standoff between the militaries of India and China at the Line of Actual Control (LAC)."China has been implementing the consensus between the two countries' leaders. We have been committed to upholding our national sovereignty, security as well as stability along the border," Mr Zhao said.

Over 15,000 Online Police Complaints Received During Lockdown.

A total of 15,299 police complaints were received online from across the State during the lockdown, State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) statistics reveal. Of these, action was taken on 85% complaints, the police claimed. Among other cities, Chennai city police topped the list with 2,370 complaints. During the lockdown, the police encouraged the public to lodge complaints online. In 2019, the police received 1,28,596 online complaints across the State. With over 1.85 lakh cases of coronavirus, India has reported more cases than Germany's 1.83 lakh and climbed to eighth from the ninth spot in the list of 10 nations worst hit by the coronavirus pandemic. The country has recorded 1,85,398 coronavirus cases as on this evening.The US has so far reported over 18 lakh cases of coronavirus, making it the nation with the most number of cases. Two Killed as under Construction Well in Malappuram caves.

Two labourers died after a well under construction caved in on them here in Malappuram district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Tanur Mukkola natives Velayudhan (63) and Achutan (63). Velayudhan and Achuthan were in the well when the tragedy took place. The well caved in and large chunk of soil fell on them and buried them alive. A Couple Commits Suicide.

A couple ended their life by consuming pesticide at D. Dharmara village in Ramayampet mandal on late Thursday night. According to Sub- Inspector B Mahender, one M. Vijaya Kumar Reddy and Ruchita loved each other and got married, they had two children. However, Mr. Reddy’s parents did not like it and constantly heckled them. Unable to cope with it the couple decided to end their life. Police registered a case and are investigating.
