Assam rejoice milestone as crime against Women drop

A report of crime against women in the state, Assam was updated recently since the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma came into process. According to the updated report, about 51% crime against women declined about 29,046 cases in 2021 to a considerably lower number of 14,030 cases in 2022. The Chief Minister took to twitter to celebrate the milestone, “A remarkable 51% decline in crimes against women in Assam. Effective policing through Special cells for women, tech-based investigations, faster prosecution, and multi-stakeholder involvement.”

8.76 lakh farmers in Assam benefitted

Administered by the Central Government, the PM-Kisan initiative provides eligible farmers with an annual sum of Rs 6,000, disbursed in three equal installments through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. According to the reports, 8.76 lakh farmers from Assam have received their 14th installment under the PM KISAN scheme. The PM KISAN scheme is to financially support Assam farmers. Minister Bora said that out of the 9.87 lakh farmers registered under PM-Kisan in Assam, 8.76 lakh have already received their installments. The remaining farmers will soon receive their rightful benefits once any technical issues are resolved.
