ADMA updates flood situation, Assam

On Tuesday, Assam flood situation was updated by Assam Disaster Management Authority in which death toll reached to 8, from Sonitpur district, Assam. According to the official reports, a total of 1, 11, 258 persons in the districts of Barpeta, Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Lakhimpur, Majuli, Morigaon, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sivasagar, and Sonitpur remain affected by the floods. Also a total of 91, 797 domestic animals have also been impacted by the floodwaters. Flood situation in the state, Assam has not yet decreased due to continuous rain affecting people, food, animals, construction etc.

On Saturday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced about changes after the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Assam He said, "there will be no reshuffle in the Assam cabinet till the Lok Sabha polls. However, there will definitely be big changes after the Lok Sabha polls and before the (2026) Assembly election."
