Higher secondary secured students to be provided scooters

On Wednesday, during a cabinet meeting Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced of providing scooters and bicycles to those students who concluded Higher Secondary Examination. According to the sources, girl students who secured 60% and above and to boys who got 75% and above will be provided scooters, Govt of Assam has approved the policy. Also the cabinet also approved ₹167 crore for the distribution of bicycles among 3.78 lakh students of Class 9, studying in government and provincialised schools.

Rape case; 2 accused arrested, Assam

In Assam, Hailakandi district two school girls were gang raped in which one of the girl’s lives came to an end. The girl was critically injured while taking to the hospital she stopped breathing. According to the reports, the two students around 11 am on Tuesday were kidnapped and both were taken to a jungle where they allegedly raped them. Further, two of them are arrested and identified as Javed Ahmed Barbhuiya and Ansar Uddin. Dengu 300 cases reported in Assam

Dengue hits Assam again, 300 cases reported so far. There is a surge of dengue cases this early year with affected and deaths toll numbers. The dengue cases were earlier reported between October and December; the source said this year dengue started taking a toll in several districts from June, even before the onset of monsoon. Along with it, two Japanese Encephalitis (JE) deaths have also been reported. The two JE deaths have been reported from Dhemaji and Lakhimpur. So far 42 cases have been reported all together.

In Kamrup district, 16-years old girl went missing, the family filed a complaint regarding the missing in the police station. SLHEP to get generated from 2023-24 FY

The Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (SLHEP) is to get completed soon; as more than 90% of its work has been completed so far also it has been successfully completed across all blocks as of 29th June. As per reports, power generation slated to begin by the end of the 2023-24 financial years, revealed by the project developer NHPC. The Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project is expected to generate approximately 7,500 million units of power annually, operating at a 90 percent dependable year.
