Manipur violence started on May 3, 2023 following a ‘Tribal Solidarity March’ in the hill districts against the Meitei community demand for ST (Schedule Tribe) in the state, Manipur. 19 new Tea Garden Adarsha Vidyalayas teachers programme

Newly Principals and teachers were recruited in 19 new Tea Garden Adarsha Vidyalayas of the state, Assam as informed earlier by the state government. On Thursday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta BIswa Sarma interacted with those recruited principals and teachers which was held in Guwahati. During the meeting, Assam Chief Minister also reviewed issues of Mid-Day Meal (MDM), free textbooks, uniforms, water, electricity bills etc. of the new Tea Garden Adarsha Vidyalayas.

Assam CM directs saplings plantation

Gas tanker caught fire; one injured and no more casualty reported

On Wednesday, a gas loaded tanker met with an accident near Assam’s Sonapur area in Kamrup districts. According to the reports, the accident took place due leakage gas from the gas tanker bearing registration number AS-01FC-5453. The tanker caught into fire, immediately fire service personnel were rushed in the spot. A local police detailed about the incident saying, “The tanker was coming from Guwahati. The driver lost his control and crossed over the divider. One person, a worker of the vehicle, got injured and was sent to hospital.”

Five arrested for killing 2 people from Assam

On June 5, five people connected to firing incident that took place in state-border with Assam were arrested by the police in Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Siang district.
