Assam Government to procure mustard seeds under PSS

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Assam Government will buy mustard seeds from the farmers at a higher rate under the Price Support Scheme (PSS). Assam CM said, the procurement will be done through the Assam State Agricultural Board and Assam Food and Civil Supplies Corporation as the state-level agencies and NAFED as the central agency. Within 3 days of the procurement the amount will be credited to the farmers. The procurement period will start from May 29 to August 26. On Monday, seven students of Assam Engineering were killed in a road accident in Guwahati, Assam. Along with seven deaths, six others were injured in the accident.
