HSLC candidate life ended, Assam

A girl lost her life during the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination, the incident unfolded in Assam's Darrang district. According to the sources, the student fainted on her first day of the exam which was from 16 February. The candidate was taken immediately to the hospital and was under treatment for three days, she passed away on Sunday night. Also, the cause of her death is still unknown. she was a student at Sipajhar B.J. Girls' High School.

India defeats Thailand by 3-2, summit clash

The Indian women's badminton team has scripted history by winning against Thailand in their first ever Badminton Asia Team Championships title in the summit clash on Sunday. A youth tries to kidnap a woman in Assam

A youth from Assam, hailing from Guwahati tried to abduct a woman forcefully near the GS road area while she was back from her work. According to the sources, the accused with three other of his friends tried to abduct the woman forcefully but failed as people present in the area rescued her. Later, the accused with his four-wheelers tried to run over the victim and her friend, injuring both of them. Further, both the victims were rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). However, police have nabbed the accused one and are under investigation.

Assam operates crackdown on illegal money lenders

Darrang Police operated illegal money lending crack down various locations of the districts, under Dalgaon and Kharupetia police stations. According to the reports, Police arrested 14 individuals involved in the exploitative practice of illegal money lending. Candidates to go through OMR sheets for HSLC examination, Assam

Assam's one of the biggest High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations has began from 16 February and the examination is set to conclude on March 16, 2024. According to the sources, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) announced the introduction of the OMR sheet for the first time in four subjects - general mathematics, general science, social science, and English subjects. Assam government tables Rs 2.9 lakh crore budget

Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog presented Assam's 2024-25 financial year budget of 2.9 crore with a deficit of Rs 774.47 crore, on Monday.
