Pakistan answers India’s notification regarding the Indus Waters Treaty

On Thursday, India announced that it had received Pakistan's answer to a notice it had submitted more than two months before asking for a review and amendment of the 62-year-old Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) for the management of transnational rivers. The letter submitted by Pakistan's Indus Water Commissioner to his Indian counterpart was forwarded by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry on April 3, according to External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.

Anti-Corruption team investigation against bribe in Assam

On Wednesday, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption team’s investigation a sub-inspector from Nagaon Police station was caught red handed allegedly accepting bribe. The accused is identified as Suruzul Haque sub-inspector of Nagaon Police station. According to the sources, the inspector demanded bribe for giving relief to the complainant from old pending case. Pakistan's anti-corruption watchdog has launched a probe against the brother of former ISI chief Lt Gen Faiz Hamid for alleged misuse of power and corruption, it emerged on Wednesday. The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab is investigating allegations that Najaf Hamid, brother of the powerful ex-spy master of the country, used influence to get undue career promotion and accumulated assets beyond means, a letter written by the regional directorate of the anti-graft body said.
