On Wednesday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma awards, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised all the "exceptional individuals" who were honoured. "We extend our congratulations to the deserving recipients of today's Padma Awards. Mr. Narendra Modi Ji has transformed the Padma Awards into evidence of what the human spirit and a steely will are capable of. Maha ATS apprehends suspect in Kerala train fire; he ‘admitted’ involvement, according to official

An official reported that the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad has detained a 27-year-old man in connection with the Kerala express train fire that claimed the lives of three persons on Wednesday. The official stated that the suspect had "confessed" to being involved in the fire. The suspect, named as Shahrukh Saifi, was apprehended at Ratnagiri train station in Maharashtra as a result of a combined operation by troops from the anti-terrorism squad and central intelligence, he claimed.
