Initiatives for flood water in both urban and rural areas, Assam Budget 2024

One of the major issues of the state which Assam people mostly face during the monsoon seasons is artificial flood in both rural and urban areas. To mitigate the problem, the Assam government has tabled Rs. 200 crore in the 2024-25 budget planning in the wetlands and the flood waters of the Brahmaputra River, Assam. Assam government tables Rs 2.9 lakh crore budget

Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog presented Assam's 2024-25 financial year budget of 2.9 crore with a deficit of Rs 774.47 crore, on Monday. According to the reports, no additional tax will be imposed on the people of Assam and also Neog said, GSDP is estimated to touch Rs 6.43 lakh crore during the next financial year as against Rs 5.7 lakh crore in 2023-24. Modi’s OBC certificate fake, alleges Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi commented some offensive statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's caste. 5 lakhs health services delivered to Assam, successful

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has officially updated about 'Ayushman Cards' in the state, Assam. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) scheme which provides assistance of 5 lakhs to families for health services. Sarma wrote on 'X', "Assam achieves a new milestone. Assam has taken sustained efforts to realise Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji's goal of Universal Health Coverage. We have become the 1st State to deliver more than one crore Ayushman cards to our people through efforts such as 'Viksit Bharat Yatra' and 'Ayushman Apke Dwar Abhiyan."

Highest number of tourists visited Assam 2023-24

Assam's Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve both national parks of Assam has witnessed highest number of tourist for 2023-24 seasons. According to the reports, during the month of October 2023, 17,662 people visited the park, November 2023, 40,242 tourists, December 2023, 65,000 people and January 2024, 52,000 tourists visited the national park. However, the parks collected Rs. 4.58 crore revenue due to the tourists visit.

Musk plans to disconnect phone calls

Tech billionaire, Elon Musk has recently announced about his plans to discontinue his phone number and instead use social media for communications. However, Elon Musk earlier promoted 'X' new feature availability, its capabilities of making video calls and audio. Mauris Noronha kills Shiv Sena leader

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot during a Facebook live session by Mauris Noronha, a business man on Thursday. As per the live video, after opening fire on Ghosalkar, Mauris shoot himself to death. Later, Ghosalkar was taken to nearby hospital. Following the incident, it is assumed that this comes after the Thane shooting incident, where BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire at Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde group functionary Mahesh Gaikwad inside a police station in Ulhasnagar.

Man gets punished under POSCO, Assam

Assam man in Jorhat was sentenced to imprisonment for 30 years under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. According to the reports, the man is identified as Biki Gupta, the accused man sexually assaulted a minor girl in 2019. Earlier, the parents of the accused tired to offer 20,000 to settle down the case. However, the parents of the victim lodged an FIR on April 4, 2019 at the Jorhat Police Station against Gupta.

Assam youth promotes diversity of marine life

A youth named Debojit Bhowmik, an aerospace engineer from Gauripur in Dhubri district, unfurls Assam's pride Gamosa under water in Karnataka. According to the sources, Bhowmik's aim to unfurl Gamosa under water was to promote snorkeling among the youths of Assam. Basically, snorkeling is a form of swimming that is performed under water like sea to experience under water environment. Bhowmik stated that he wanted to showcase the beauty and diversity of marine life to the people of his state, Assam and encourage them to try snorkelling.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 7 to file charge sheet for Junmoni Rabha death case. According to the sources, Junmoni Rabha death case took place on 16 May, 2023 seven months ago and still the reason behind the death is unclear. CBI has been investigating into the matter since last, however on Feb 7 the charge sheet will be filled.
