Arunachal-Assam border dispute to be end by November

In a press conference, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the states' age-old border dispute with Assam would soon end by November. Supreme Court Notice to Assam Government

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Assam government on a petition against the Gauhati High Court on state-run madrassas. According to the report, the High Court observed that madrasas being maintained by the state through provincialization are affected by Article 28(1) of the Constitution and therefore cannot be allowed to impart religious instruction. On Sunday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma said that around 4,000 government institutes in the state would witness infrastructural improvements in the next five years. Three Swedish preachers have been arrested for violating visa norms and proselytizing Christians in Naharkatiya in Assam's Dibrugarh district.
