Swiggy partners with Tripura Police to conduct road safety drive for delivery executives

Swiggy has partnered with the Tripura Police Traffic Unit in Agartala to conduct a road safety and traffic awareness programme for its delivery executives as part of its “Delivering Safely” road safety initiative. The awareness camp focused on promoting safe riding practices, compliance with traffic regulations and educating participants about the consequences of traffic violations. The programme was held under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Pranob Das and Agartala Traffic Department official Bikash Das, with participation from Swiggy delivery partners. During the event, Swiggy distributed helmets to delivery executives to encourage responsible riding and safer last-mile deliveries. A brand rally was also organised following the awareness session to reinforce the road safety message.

Swiggy said the safety and well-being of its delivery partners and the wider community remain a priority. The company has been conducting similar road safety and traffic awareness programmes in collaboration with traffic police departments across India for the past four years. In 2025 alone, it organised more than 22 such training sessions across multiple cities. Swiggy also said every delivery partner is covered under road insurance, receives mandatory safety training during onboarding and participates in regular awareness campaigns.

The initiative is expected to strengthen Agartala’s fast-growing app-based delivery ecosystem, where demand for food and quick-commerce services continues to rise. Improved road safety awareness among delivery personnel could help reduce traffic-related incidents, enhance service reliability and support safer urban mobility, benefiting consumers, delivery partners and local businesses alike.
