Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Kolkata, marking a major step toward accelerating enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence and data-driven transformation.
The facility, located at Delta Park Lords in Kolkata, has been developed in collaboration with Oracle Corporation. It is designed to help organisations address key challenges such as fragmented data systems, slow analytics processes, limited AI scalability, and operational inefficiencies.
According to TCS, the lab will leverage the Oracle AI Data Platform, which integrates Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and OCI Enterprise AI. This combined ecosystem aims to enable enterprises to make their data AI-ready and deploy advanced AI applications, automation solutions, and intelligent analytics at scale.
The IT services major also announced plans to expand this initiative by setting up similar Oracle AI Data Platform Labs and Centres of Excellence in four additional Indian cities over the next three years. The company said the expansion is part of its broader strategy to strengthen AI engineering capabilities and advanced analytics services across key markets.
Sudipto Ray, Vice President and Global Head of Oracle Practice at TCS, said the new facility is designed to speed up the journey from ideation to experimentation and ultimately to full-scale deployment of AI solutions. Meanwhile, Arvind Mehra, Head of Alliances and Channels Technology at Oracle India, said the initiative will help enterprises convert data into meaningful business outcomes through AI-driven insights and automation.
TCS added that it currently has a centralised workforce of around 26,000 Oracle-skilled professionals across India, supporting global clients in their digital transformation and AI adoption journeys.
