The Two new railway lines connecting Thane and Diva inaugurated by PM Modi

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated the two new additional railway lines which connected Thane and Diva. He will also flag off two suburban trains of Mumbai Suburban Railways.

These have been built at the approximate cost of Rs 620 crores. It also features 1.4 kilometres long rail flyover, 3 major bridges and 21 minor bridges.

According to the release issued by Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Kalyan is the main junction of the Central Railway. The traffic that is coming from the North and Southern side of the country merge at Kalyan and move towards the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

Out of the four tracks between these, two tracks were used for slow local trains and the other two tracks for fast local trains – Mail Express and Goods trains. Two additional tracks were planned to segregate the suburban and long-distance trains.
