Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik on Tuesday presented national flags to officials and staff of various departments attached to Lok Bhavan as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.The programme, an initiative of the Governor, was organised to encourage greater public participation in celebrations marking India’s 80th Independence Day and to highlight the values represented by the national flag. While handing over the tricolour, Parnaik urged the officials to become ambassadors of patriotism in their families and communities. “As you take home the tiranga today, carry with it the spirit of national unity, civic responsibility and pride in our great nation. Let every home display the flag and every heart uphold the ideals for which it stands,” he said. The Governor said the national flag was more than a symbol, as it represented the courage, sacrifices and determination of the freedom fighters who fought for India’s independence.
He encouraged families to hoist the tricolour with pride and use the occasion to educate children and young people about the history and significance of the national flag and the values of unity, integrity and service to the nation.Parnaik also reminded citizens to display the flag with dignity and follow the Flag Code of India. “The flag should always occupy a position of honour and never be allowed to touch the ground, be misused as decoration or displayed in a damaged condition,” he said.He also advised Lok Bhavan officials to ensure proper care of the flag after the celebrations. He said the tricolour should be carefully folded and preserved respectfully and, if it becomes unserviceable, disposed of in a dignified manner in accordance with the Flag Code. Meanwhile, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was marked by a series of programmes across Arunachal Pradesh. The Itanagar unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad organised a Tiranga Yatra on Tuesday to mark 150 years of Vande Mataram. Home Minister Mama Natung, IMC Mayor Likha Nari Tadar and Youth Affairs Department Director Ramesh Linggi were among those who attended the event. In Ziro in Lower Subansiri district, a Tiranga Yatra was organised at Padi Yubbe Stadium, bringing together citizens, local administration officials and community leaders.
Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme and Superintendent of Police Keni Bagra addressed the gathering and spoke about national unity, the sacrifices of the country’s heroes and the collective responsibility of citizens towards the development of the district and the nation. MLA Hage Appa and DC Perme thereafter jointly flagged off the procession. The yatra passed through the main parts of the town before concluding at the Padi Yubbe Outdoor Stadium. In Lower Siang district, a bike rally was organised in Likabali as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The rally was organised by the police in collaboration with the district administration and the Art & Culture Department to promote patriotism, national pride and the spirit of unity, particularly among young people. The ride was flagged off from the Likabali police station by ITBP Sector DIG Naresh Shaukand and Likabali ADC Mokar Riba in the presence of heads of departments, representatives of various organisations, ITBP personnel, Arunachal Pradesh Police personnel, GREF personnel, members of the AAPWW Lower Siang unit and local residents. Around 450 people participated in the rally, which covered approximately 4.5 km through Likabali. Addressing the participants, Shaukand encouraged young people to contribute actively to nation-building and uphold the values of patriotism, unity and civic responsibility.
