Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has left for New Delhi to attend the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog and a special meeting of chief ministers from the Northeast region, where key development priorities and policy issues are expected to be discussed.
Before the NITI Aayog meeting, Dr Saha on Wednesday attended a special conclave of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting was attended by chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and NDA allies, where leaders discussed governance issues and future political and developmental strategies. Participants also congratulated the Prime Minister on completing 12 years in office.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to chair the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi on Thursday. The meeting, themed “Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat @2047”, will bring together chief ministers, lieutenant governors, Union ministers and senior NITI Aayog officials to discuss strategies aimed at ensuring balanced and inclusive growth across the country.
According to official information, discussions will focus on four major areas – human capital development and future-ready skills, employment and entrepreneurship, health and nutrition, and ensuring equity and dignity for all sections of society. The meeting will also deliberate on measures to strengthen skill development, promote entrepreneurship and create sustainable employment opportunities.
A key objective of the meeting will be to align state-level development visions with the national goal of achieving a developed India by 2047. The Governing Council is expected to discuss implementation strategies, governance reforms and mechanisms to ensure measurable outcomes in developmental programmes.
Officials said Dr Saha is expected to present Tripura’s development priorities and vision for the state’s future growth during the meeting.
On June 12, the Prime Minister will also chair a special meeting of chief ministers from the Northeast. During the session, leaders from the region are expected to raise state-specific issues, development requirements and policy interventions needed from the Centre.
