A father allegedly beaten his two minor daughters to death with a wooden planks following an argument with his wife on Saturday at Ultachhara Bru Rehabilitation Village under Gandacherra subdivision of Tripura’s Dhalai district.
The 34-year-old accused was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Police said the tragic incident happened after the man and his wife had a quarrel after consuming alcohol at their home.
The accused, identified as Lalchunaoma Bru, has been arrested by the police, and an investigation has been launched into the incident.
According to police sources, the deceased children have been identified as 13-year-old Rishika Kha Hamti Bru and four-year-old Priha Smaina Bru.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a heated argument broke out between Lalchunaoma Bru and his wife, 32-year-old Rontarung Bru, on Saturday morning. During the altercation, the two children started crying, following which the accused allegedly attacked them with a wooden plank in a fit of anger.
