In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Tripura Police arrested one person and seized Yaba tablets worth ₹2.50 crore in Bagbasa, North Tripura district, on February 9. Tripura conclave brings business proposals worth Rs 3,683 crore

The Tripura government on Saturday said that 87 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) valued at Rs 3,683 crore were signed in the business conclave that concluded on February 8. Addressing the 'Destination Tripura: Business Conclave-2025' here, Chief Minister Manik Saha urged investors to set up industries in the northeastern state. "Though Tripura is the third smallest state in the country, it has enormous resources to offer for setting up industries. Natural gas, tea, rubber, bamboo and agar are the resources which could be used for commercial purposes," Saha said.

Tripura Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma on Thursday said the northeastern state is expected to receive investment proposals worth Rs 600 crore during the two-day business summit. The state is set to host the business conclave commencing on Friday to showcase Tripura's potentiality in the service sector, she said. "The programme 'Destination Tripura: Business Conclave' is expected to attract proposals amounting to Rs 600 crore in IT, healthcare, education and skill development and tourism. Over Rs 8 lakh worth of contraband seized by Tripura BSF

The Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura successfully foiled multiple trans-border smuggling bids along the Indo-Bangladesh border, seizing a large quantity of contraband items worth over Rs 8 lakh. In a series of operations, the BSF seized 88 kg of Ganja, 470 bottles of Phensedyl, and 50 kg of sugar, valued at Rs 8,90,308. Additionally, four cattle were also confiscated.
