V-Guard elevates Mithun K. Chittilappilly as chairperson and managing director

V-Guard Industries Ltd has appointed Mithun K. Chittilappilly as Chairperson and Managing Director with effect from September 27, 2026, marking a new phase in the leadership of the consumer electrical and durables company. He succeeds RadhaUnni, whose second and final term as Chairperson and Independent Director has ended.

Chittilappilly joined V-Guard as Executive Director in 2006 and became Managing Director in 2012. During his two-decade association, the company’s turnover increased nearly 24-fold from about Rs 229 crore in 2006 to Rs 5,966 crore in FY2026. Its workforce has also grown from around 575 employees to 11,350 as of August 2026.

V-Guard now operates 15 manufacturing facilities across seven states and has a diversified portfolio spanning more than 20 categories. Under Chittilappilly’s leadership, the company expanded geographically, diversified its portfolio and strengthened manufacturing, while transforming its operations across brand, customer service, supply chain, sales and marketing, human resources and finance.

In Kolkata, the company’s pan-India expansion and wider consumer durables portfolio provide a platform to deepen its presence in West Bengal and eastern India, supported by its manufacturing and distribution network.

V-Guard has also received recognitions including Newsweek-Statista’s World’s Most Trustworthy Companies 2025, TIME’s India’s Best Employer 2025, four AmbitionBox Employee Choice Awards, five Red Dot Global Design Awards and five consecutive Superbrand recognitions in voltage stabilisers.

Chittilappilly said his appointment comes as V-Guard approaches its 50th anniversary and presents an opportunity to build on its foundation and prepare the organisation for its next phase of growth.
