2,000 Jawa, Yezdi and BSA riders join Independence Day rides across India

More than 2,000 Jawa, Yezdi and BSA motorcycle riders participated in Independence Day rides across India under the Nomads banner, marking the country’s 80th Independence Day with a nationwide celebration of freedom and motorcycling. The initiative brought together riders through 150 dealerships, cutting across age groups, regions and riding styles. According to Classic Legends, the Nomads identity is intended to bring Jawa, Yezdi and BSA riders together beyond individual brands, with shared experiences and a common passion for motorcycling forming the basis of the community.

The company said the rides also reflected the spirit of national pride associated with its recent association with the Indian Armed Forces through the Shaurya Vijay Yatra, which paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers. Anupam Thareja, Co-founder, Classic Legends, said Independence Day was a reminder of the values that make freedom possible and the sacrifices made to protect it. He added that riders from different regions and generations had come together through Nomads to celebrate that spirit.

Kolkata remains a relevant market for the classic and lifestyle motorcycle segment, where heritage-oriented products and organised riding communities can help brands build stronger engagement with enthusiasts. Initiatives such as nationwide rides could further strengthen community-led brand connect in eastern India. Classic Legends said it plans to continue expanding the Nomads Kommuniti through rides and other initiatives aimed at strengthening connections among Jawa, Yezdi and BSA riders across the country.
