26 District Football Bodies Join APFA Meeting on NSGA 2025

The Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) held its first-ever virtual special general body meeting (SGM) on Tuesday, with representatives of 26 district football associations taking part in discussions on the National Sports Governance Act (NSGA) 2025 and its implications for football administration in the state.

The meeting focused primarily on understanding the provisions of the new sports governance framework and the requirements that football associations will need to meet under the legislation. Representatives from the participating district football associations raised questions and sought clarification on different provisions of the Act.

The discussions covered various aspects of governance and compliance, with members seeking a clearer understanding of how the NSGA 2025 could affect the functioning and administration of football bodies at the state and district levels.

Legal Advisor Tania Kipa provided legal consultancy and guidance during the meeting. She assisted the members in understanding the legal provisions of the Act and explained issues related to governance and compliance under the new framework.

The participation of 26 district football associations provided a platform for representatives from across the state to discuss their concerns and seek clarification on matters that may have an impact on their respective organisations.

The meeting was chaired by APFA senior vice president Kipa Takum.

The virtual SGM marked an important step for the state football association as it began discussions on the requirements and implications of the NSGA 2025 with its affiliated district bodies. The consultations are expected to help the associations better understand the new governance framework and prepare for the compliance requirements associated with it.
