Landslides wreak havoc in Itanagar, DC initiates immediate highway clearing

In response to heavy rainfall causing landslides and mudslides, Deputy Commissioner Smti Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta, IAS, took immediate action to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety on NH-415 and surrounding areas. During her inspection of NH-415, Deputy Commissioner Mehta directed the deployment of manpower and machinery to clear blockages caused by landslides. The Highway Department has been instructed to maintain readiness round the clock and respond promptly to any obstructions. Arunachal monsoon havoc: Sarli-Koloriang road washed out

Heavy monsoon rains in Arunachal Pradesh have wreaked havoc, particularly in Kurung Kumey district where the 47-kilometer Sarli-Koloriang road has been completely washed out, rendering all bridges impassable. This has effectively isolated Sarli town from its surrounding areas. Arunachal Pradesh reported its first COVID-19 death after a 43-year old woman died due to the deadly virus on Wednesday night.The woman breathed her last while she was transferred to the COVID health center in Tombo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun.State Surveillance Officer, L Jampa said that the woman was undergoing hemodialysis and planning for kidney transplant at Delhi. But due to the prevailing situation, the procedure couldn’t be completed and returned to the state on June 11.

Arunachal records highest with 32 fresh Covid positive cases

The state , Arunachal Pradesh reported its first Covid positive cases on 2nd April after a 31 years old man , who attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi tested positive. He recovered and was discharged from hospital on 16th April 2020. The state registered its highest single day spike un Covid-19 cases as 32 more people tested positive for it, a senior health official said it on Saturday. The state reported its second case after a gap of six weeks on May 24 when a student returning from the national capital tested positive for the deadly virus.

Six new Covid-19 cases in Arunachal

Six more people, including three Army personnel, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the total number of cases in the state to 67, a health department official said on Friday. Three Army men tested positive for the disease in Singchung sub-division of West Kameng district on Thursday night, while two persons were detected with the infection in Changlang and one in Longding, he said.
