Seven more deaths reported in Assam floods, toll climbs to 92

The flood situation in Assam remains critical, with seven additional deaths reported on Tuesday, raising the total to 92 this year due to floods, landslides, and storms. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the number of affected people has decreased to 1.77 million, but the crisis persists. The latest fatalities occurred in the Cachar (2), Dhubri, Dhemaji, South Salmara, Nagaon, and Sivasagar districts. Of the total deaths, 79 were caused by floods, with landslides and storms responsible for the remainder.
