Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced of ending VIP culture in terms of electricity bill payment from government officials to Ministers will now have to pay their own bills. Assam CM aims to enhance state’s power generation capacity & reduce reliance on purchases

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a joint venture with the Assam Power Generation Corporation and Oil India Limited has laid the foundation stone for a 25-MW solar power generation project at Namrup Thermal Power Station in Dibrugarh district. According to the sources, the project will span 108 acres and is expected to cost Rs. 115 crore. The project aims to produce 50 million units of electricity annually. Assam Congress takes legal action against five MLAs

The state unit of Congress party, Bhupen Borah has said that Assam Congress is keen to disqualify five MLAs from the party for openly support BJP without any resignation. To reports the five legislators are Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, Sifdeque Ahmed, Shahilanta Das, Basanta Das and Sherman Ali Ahmed. Bhupen Borah said, "We are looking for a decision to come from the Speaker of the Assembly. If he refuses to take any action against the five MLAs, we will approach the Court."

According to the sources, two motorcycle owners faced difficulties when their vehicles broke down, on investigating they out that the petrol pump supplied water instead of petrol. Assam witnesses surge of fuel price after Lok Sabha elections results declaration. According to the sources, petrol prices have risen by Rs. 1.02 rupees, while diesel prices have increased by Rs. 1.01. The surge of sudden fuel prices has sparked widespread concern among the residents of Assam, unexpected hike just after twenty-four hours of election results announcement. As of today, the price of petrol in Guwahati stands at Rs 97.19 per litre, a slight increase from yesterday's rate of Rs 96.17. Assam University cancels TDC (CBCS) exam due to flood situation & relief camp
