Agarwood bust in Assam: Massive seizure on Guwahati-Mumbai route

Authorities conducted a successful raid on July 4 aboard a train traveling from Guwahati to Mumbai, seizing 45 bags of agarwood worth crores. The operation took place during the night at Bongaigaon railway station. Agarwood, renowned as one of the world's most expensive woods, possesses medicinal properties including as a stimulant, antiasthmatic, carminative, tonic, aphrodisiac, and astringent. It finds use in treating conditions such as diarrhoea, dysentery, gout, rheumatism, and paralysis. The seized items comprised 41 bags of dried agarwood pieces and 4 cartons of agaru oil, transported aboard the New Bongaigaon GRPF's Nammanya Tilak Express.

Assam CM inspects breach embankment in Dibrughar city

Assam Agriculture Minister holds workshop on double cropping project

Assam Agriculture minister Atul Bora has launched double cropping project at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat which will include 23 districts, covering 1,000 hectares of land across the state. Bora stressed the primary goal of the project is to boost farmers' income.
