May 21, the world celebrates International Tea Day. As Assam has been a huge contribution in supplying tea world wide, with larger number of production within the countries and maximum number of workers. Assam CM on supporting those hands wishes everyone 'International Tea Day' through his social media handle. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighting its contribution on social media posted saying, "Wherever you are in the world, when you sip your cup of tea in the morning, it's most likely from the lush tea gardens of Assam." Clash between two communities in Assam’s Bajali dist

In Assam's Bajali district a dispute between two students took place which turned out to be communal clash. Several people turned violent against each other due to which many were injured and shifted to nearby hospital. According to the sources, to take control over the situation multiple police units were deployed in the area. Further, the reason behind the clash is not yet identified.

Miscreants attempts to kill youth over family feud, Assam

A youth in Digboi, Assam identified as Amrit Thakur was brutally attacked by a group of miscreants who attempted to kill him. According to the sources, the horrifying incident took place at Digboi Chariali locality. The victim alleged that the attack was done by his wife's relatives due to family feud. Amrit has been seeking seperation from his wife. However, the victim is admitted to hospital and he is under treatment with severe injuries and critical condition.

Assam education syllabus to get changed, plans are underway says Pegu

The Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) has recently celebrated Golden jubilee where Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu too attended the event. During his speech, the education minister has informed about the plans to remove vocational courses from higher education syllabus and integrate the vocational branch into Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. From May 15, Orang National park to get closed

Madrassas in Assam converted to general schools

The Assam Government has banned madrassas and turned into general schools in Assam. AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has promised to go against the decision of the government. During an election campaign he said that he will move to the Supreme Court to grant reopening of the closed madrassas in Assam. Around 1,281 madrassas were converted to schools. He said, "UP government announced the closure of madrasas and later, the Supreme Court condemned them. With this reference, we will go to the Supreme Court and get the order from there."

The prestigious award was conferred by President of India Draupadi Murmu for their contribution to implementing various schemes of agriculture, and the other for exponent of Suknani Ojapali and Deodhani dancer.
