Axis Bank and Cognizant have completed the implementation and go-live of Cognizant’s Application Management Services (AMS) under the bank’s AMS 2.0 initiative, marking a technology-focused step towards improving operational efficiency, application reliability and productivity.
AMS 2.0 is a jointly driven programmecentred on automation-led operations, stronger delivery governance and standardised processes across application support services. The model is designed to improve service reliability and cost efficiency while supporting scalability, productivity and operational consistency, with governance, compliance and discipline forming key components.
The five-year agreement covers technology systems across Branch and Operations, Cards, Corporate Banking and Treasury, Core Platforms and Payments, Finance and Accounting, Retail and Wholesale Banking, and Data Platforms and Integration. The programme forms part of Axis Bank’s wider technology transformation aimed at developing a scalable, resilient and future-ready IT operating model.
Avinash Raghavendra, Group Head – Information Technology & Retail Operations, Axis Bank, said the initiative would support a more resilient and automation-enabled operations model. Ganesh Ayyar, President – Asia Pacific & Japan, Cognizant, said the teams would focus on governance-led operations and responsible automation to improve run stability and efficiency.
In Kolkata, the development highlights the growing role of technology and automation in banking operations, particularly as financial institutions expand digital platforms, payments infrastructure and technology-enabled customer services across eastern India.
