Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has temporarily suspended the marriage registration service due to the rising Covid-19 case across the city. BMC in a press note said, "Marriage registration service temporarily stopped due to current Covid-19 situation in Mumbai. The service will be restarted soon with the facility of appointment, date, and time." Mumbai reported 7,895 new cases of Covid-19 out of 57,534 tests conducted during the last 24 hours. Maharashtra schools have been shut till February 15 due to COVID-19 cases. Demands have been raised for reopening the schools as children are suffering from loss of education. The Puducherry health department said,  30 health officials including doctors have tested positive for Covid-19 last week. In a statement on Sunday, the health department's Director, G. Sriramalu said: "In the last one week, 30 health officials including 12 doctors tested positive in the union territory. They are undergoing treatment."
