Petrol and diesel rates were cut by oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Thursday as global crude oil prices continue to weaken. This was the second straight day of fuel price cut by OMCs after rates were slashed for the first time in 2021 on Wednesday. Petrol rates have been cut by 21 paise, while diesel prices in the country have been lowered by 20 paise. Following the cut, a litre of petrol in Delhi costs Rs 90.78, down from Rs 90.99 on Wednesday. Militant attack on outskirts of Srinagar kills at least two CRPF personnel

At least two CRPF personnel were killed and two others were injured Thursday in a suspected militant attack at Lawaypora on the outskirts of Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir. The two injured personnel are in critical condition and have been rushed to a hospital, the CRPF said. The militants opened fire on the CRPF personnel, a police official told PTI.
