The budget session of Meghalaya Assembly will commence from March 5. The session is likely to be a stormy one as the opposition Congress party is expected to raise the illegal mining and transportation of coal, besides price rise and corruption. During the session, four days have been earmarked for Private members’ business and seven days for Government business. The NPP-led government would be presented the budget after the lockdown and is likely to announce some sops to rejuvenate the economy.
