Maharashtra's COVID-19 tally rose to 2,11,987 on Monday with the state adding 5,368 new cases, while more than 200 patients succumbed to the infection.   A total of 3,522 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the number of recovered persons to 1,15,262, the department said. There are 87,681 active cases in the state at present, it added.  Meanwhile, the nationwide tally of coronavirus cases crossed seven lakh on Monday. The Naveen Patnaik-led Odisha government has decided to conduct the rapid antigen test (RAT) for all coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients and healthcare staff in four hospitals in Cuttack city after they reported 135 viral outbreak cases in the past week. Jailed former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad has moved the Jharkhand HC for bail in the Chaibasa treasury fraudulent withdrawal case in the runup to the Bihar Assembly poll. “The Assembly elections are crucial for RJD’s survival. One Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan sustained injuries when suspected militants detonated a low-intensity improvised explosive device ( IED) in south Kashmir's Pulwama on Sunday morning. An official said the explosives were triggered minutes after a convoy of the paramilitary CRPF passed through the Gongoo area. “Militants had planted the low-intensity IED under a tree near Peaks Automobiles in Gongoo area of the district. A man in his early 50s, suffering from coronavirus symptoms, allegedly died due to the lack of hospital beds and ICUs in the Bengaluru. The patient visited 18 hospitals in the city but had to return home after none would admit him due to a shortage of beds.
