The State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb inaugurated various projects in Fulbari on Wednesday.Reportedly, the minister laid the foundation stone of a 4 km road from Laxmisthan of Fulbari-2 Gram Panchayat up to Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway. The road will be constructed at a cost of about 64 lakh rupees on behalf of the Jalpaiguri District-in-council through the Bangla Gram Sadak Yojana (BGSY).He also inaugurated the beautification of the park at Bashundhara Awasan in Fulbari-1 gram panchayat. Irrigation used in agriculture are distributed among the farmers of Raiganj

Water irrigation equipment was handed over to the farmers of Sannyasikata in Rajganj through the Krishi Sinchai Yojana.It has been learned that on Tuesday, the Rajganj Block Agriculture Department distributed necessary equipment including irrigation pipes and sprinklers among farmers during a programme at Lalskul Balabari. Reportedly, the equipment was handed over to 51 farmers for cultivation of Rabi crops. According to department sources, irrigation devices will be provided to the farmers of other gram panchayats in the block.

Islampur MLA Abdul Karim Chowdhury inaugurated the road construction work under ‘Pathshree Abhiyan’ project in the Khunti Gram Panchayat area.Addressing the media, Chowdhury praised the Pathshree project and thanked the Chief Minister for taking the initiative to upgrade the communication system in the remote rural areas. On the other hand, Nargis Begum, gram panchayat pradhan, said that several road works are being inaugurated and repair work is being carried out with the aim of improving the communication system.

A six-year-old girl raped in Iglas in Aligarh about 10 days back by her cousin, died in a Delhi hospital on Tuesday. A two-year-old girl was charred to death and over 10 people were injured as a fire destroyed 300 shanties in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district, police said on Tuesday.Twelve fire tenders took three hours to douse the blaze that broke out at Sihani village on Monday evening.
