New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan, the Rs 50,000 crore mega scheme to provide jobs to the migrant workers who returned to their respective villages during the coronavirus-mandated lockdown. The mega job scheme will roll out 116 districts across the country, in which the maximum number of migrant workers have returned. Goa, which has a relatively smaller population of 16.6 lakh, has reported 705 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positive cases, which are comparable with states such as Himachal Pradesh (HP) that has a far higher population.
