Justice Soumen Sen, a senior judge with more than three decades of legal experience, has officially assumed charge as the new Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court. His appointment follows a notification from the President of India on September 26, based on the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium earlier this month. Justice Sen was until recently serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court, where he took charge on September 16, 2025.
