A 23-year-old man, H. Lalrohlua from Hrangchalkawn, Lunglei, was arrested in Aizawl on November 9 for a scheme in which he redirected payments to his personal account at a Mizofed petrol pump. Lalrohlua, currently residing in Aizawl’s Armed Veng area, allegedly replaced the petrol pump’s original QR code with his own, scamming customers who paid via G-Pay. The fraudulent activity came to light after CCTV footage captured Lalrohlua swapping the QR codes, and the video quickly went viral on social media.
