Renowned Manipuri singer and lyricist Akhu Chingangbam was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen from his home in Imphal on Friday which his family said. Actually the vocalist of the band Imphal Talkies was later released unharmed, around 20 km away from his house. A relative of the singer said that a few armed men barged into Chingangbam's home in Khurai on Friday morning and took him to a place around 20 km away. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state is 68.68 per cent, the bulletin added. Meanwhile, the District Magistrate of Thoubal, Bandana Devi imposed curfew in the entire district to prohibit movement of people to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
