In a major crackdown on illegal plastic use, the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC), along with the Aizawl Superintendent of Police, Mizoram Pollution Control Board, and the Local Council of Bethlehem locality, seized 1,800 kilograms of banned single-use plastic on Saturday night. Officials said the operation led to the discovery of a huge stockpile of plastic bags, most of which were below the mandated 120-micron thickness standard set by the Central Pollution Control Board.
